Portugal – looking for advice

Hi everyone,

I am going to Portugal next week for a mini vacation. Will visit Faro, Porto and Lisbon also. I am excited much 🙂

I am looking forward to see some comments about these cities based on YOUR experience.

What to see, what to do? If you know some good restaurants or just something what you really liked please let me know. I am more  than happy to explore something what is not that well known and popular.

Thank You So Much if you will take your time to share your experiences!!!

  1. Excitement! You might already be there and I just saw this. 🙂 Depends how much time you have but it sounds like a full itinerary already. From Faro I would recommend a trip to Silves and to Lagos. You can get to both very cheaply by bus. It all depends on time. In Porto my husband would recommend you try a Francesinha- a sort of huge breakfast in a bowl. 🙂 Have fun!

I can recommend you to visit: ribeira, Port wine houses in Gaia, Casa da Música, Casa e Museu de Serralves, Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, Jardim Botânico, Avenida dos Aliados, Rua de Santa Catarina, Livraria Lello, café Majestic … Just a few things that I love.
Wis you a great trip and enjoy Porto

  3. As 7 Maravilhas, in Porto, was a very good restaurant with friendly staff and owner and delicious food. I highly recommend it!

  4. In Porto, O Bom Talher was an excellent and cheap restaurant.
Day trip to Cascais while in Lisboa, and a trip to Cabo de São Vicente while in the Algarve are both well worth it and haven’t been mentioned. Sintra is also a great day trip from Lisboa as someone mentioned.
    Enjoy!
If you like coffee, I recommend um galao, a big coffee with milk/white coffee.

      2. Sintra is only like a 45 train from Lisbon and they run very frequently. They all get there at 10 and leave at 4/5.
